Welcome! Perhaps you are here because you have read my book or you have an interest in it? However you got here, I am glad you are here!

"Reason for Existence" is for people who are interested in the mystery of existence and the origin of life, especially in the light of the Christian faith.

Have you ever wondered where everything in the universe came from, where God came from, and if there was ever nothing, at all, existing? Does the physical world have a physical explanation for its existence?

If God is real, all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present, and all-benevolent, why then are people starving to death, perishing without safe and clean drinking water, suffering from sickness and disease, and why are there natural disasters wreaking havoc everywhere, if God could prevent it?

Is there something more to our being as humans than atoms and molecules? Does freewill, truth, and love exist or is decision making fantasy? How is right and wrong determined? If freewill exists, will it then be possible to sin in Heaven once we are there? Does God have freewill? Is there anything that God could not create? If so, how could He be all-powerful?

What is Biblical Atonement? How does the blood of Jesus, a physical substance from two thousand years ago, wash believers from their sins today (a nonphysical thing), and why was His death necessary? What happened after Jesus died?

If God is love, then why must everything be done His way, and why was He not satisfied to spend eternity by Himself if He knew that, by creating the world as He did, some people would perish in their sins?

Who is Jesus, and what is the Trinity? Is it possible to truly understand it?

Are the teachings of Jesus for today or postponed for a future dispensation? Is obedience to the teachings of Jesus legalism, or love? Does the Sermon on the Mount apply to believers today?

Take some time to read and carefully consider the content of this book. While the chapters of this book are dedicated to answering these questions, explaining the reason for existence, in general, and the reason for human existence, specifically, a large portion is also devoted to real-life application of loving as Jesus loved, and to His teachings on the kingdom of God.

And if you are like me, you are amazed by the paradox of existence...

Are you an atheist, agnostic, or theist of some sort, yet honestly searching for answers to life’s biggest questions?

This book is for you!

Have you, as a Christian believer, drifted from your First Love?

The labels for this book could be: apologetics, creationism, Christology, and holy living.

It will be a good tool to give new disciples a solid understanding of the most necessary and fundamental teachings of Christianity.

The cover design depicts what happened within me, through faith in Jesus Christ, nearly 23 years ago.

The following is from the table of contents.

Chapter 1: The Existence Paradox. There are only two possible explanations for existence. Either there was nothing at all ever existing, from which something began to exist, or something always existed and necessarily, self-existed. It cannot be otherwise. The probability of each possibility determines which explanation is logically the truth . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1

Chapter 2: What has always Existed and Self-Existed? Was it matter, mind, or something else altogether? The most popular scientific theories for the origin of life, the origin of the universe and a brief analysis. Conclusion: an Eternal Self-Existent Being, referred to as “God” has always existed and Self-Existed . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15

Chapter 3: What is God? A few brief Biblical glances, i.e., does God travel, can He be quantified, where is He, what did He use to create the universe, etc.? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 51

Chapter 4: Faith is Reasonable because Existence is a paradox. Existence did not come about naturally. Existence breaks all of the physical rules inherent within our universe; therefore, belief in God and miracles is logical. Personal testimony of miracles. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  67

Chapter 5: If God is Real, why then does Evil Exist? There are two primary evils and two primary types of suffering. Why? This chapter focuses more on the evil and suffering within human control . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 77

Chapter 6: Chance or Choice? Does good and evil exist? Does truth exist? If so, who defines it, and how it is determined? Is there more to human nature than atoms and molecules? If so, can it be demonstrated? What do choices consist of? Are choices more than the results of physicochemical processes? Is mankind justly accountable for their actions? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 89

Chapter 7: What God could not Create but did. Is it possible for God to ever be illogical? God cannot lie, He cannot be inconsistent with Himself. There are certain things God could not do, but why? Does God have freewill? Why does natural evil and involuntary suffering exist, i.e., babies dying of cancer, natural disasters, etc.? The original creation was a means to the new creation. Intro to The Atonement . . . . . . . . 115

Chapter 8: The Revolutionary Perspective of Love. The Atonement must be both legal and effective. Specific effects of The Atonement. Why did Jesus have to suffer and die? What happened after He died? Why did Jesus do everything He did for us? What was Jesus thinking about while He suffered? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 143

Chapter 10: Love and the Fulness of Times. Why did God wait so long to send Jesus, provide atonement, and to begin His mighty revolution of love? Explains Biblical predestination. If God is love, why is everything about Him? Why was God not satisfied to eternally exist without creating a world where evil and suffering was possible? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  269
